Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Wins US National Book Critics Circle Award


A few hours ago, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie won the US National Book Critics Circle Award


Chimamanda’s acclaimed third novel Americanah beats Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch, to claim the US National Book Critics Circle prize for fiction.

Ms. Adichie, whose other works include Purple Hibiscus (longlisted for the Man Booker prize), Half of a Yellow Sun (won the Orange prize) and a collection of short stories, The Thing around Your Neck, has also just been longlisted for the Baileys women’s fiction prize for her work on Americanah, alongside other international titles.
