Ebola Survivors Advised To Use Condom After Recovery

Peter Piot, a professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a discoverer of Ebola in 1976, has advised that survivors of Ebola should use condom and not have unprotected days for at least 90 days. This is to reduce the danger of contamination through unprotected sex because the Ebola virus can live for at least 70 days in semen, even after the victim has been declared free of the disease.

The virus spreads through bodily fluids, and has been detected in blood, saliva, breast milk, urine and semen.
