This Is What Your Man Hears When You Say…….

Have you ever heard men say that when a woman says no, she actually means yes?

And most men will argue passionately that women always mean the opposite of what they actually say.

This got me thinking.

Do women actually play the game of ‘what you heard is not what I meant?’

Maybe. Maybe not.

But I needed to find out.

So I asked every man I met during the week one simple question:

‘Tell me a sentence or phrase your wife or girlfriend says that you know actually means something else.

The answers I got were hilarious and I share them below:

When a lady says “do what you want”, what the man hears is “don’t you dare try anything”.

When a woman says “we have to talk…“, she actually means “you’re in trouble and I need to complain about it now”

When a woman says, “does this dress make me look fat?” what he hears is “If you say I am fat, you are in trouble and if you say No, then you are not telling the truth”. (It’s a yes or no question that he can’t win)

When a woman says, “I love you,” what he hears is “I love you, and I want you to tell me you love me too.”

When a woman says, “Do you love me?” what he hears is “I want to ask for something really expensive.

When you ask a woman “what is wrong?” and she says “nothing“, what he hears is, “are you dumb? Of course something is seriously wrong! You should know that already but if you don’t, I want you to ask me again and again

When you snuggle up to her and try to steal a kiss and she asks, “did you brush your teeth?’ what he hears is “your breathe stinks so please don’t kiss me

When a woman says, “I have heard you. I’ll think about it’, what the man hears is “that is none of my concern and I will never talk about it again”.

When a woman says, “do you remember how much fun we had at our honeymoon?” what the man hears is, “I did something you’re really not going to like“.

When a woman says, “we never talk“, what the man hears is, “I need to nag and I need you to listen

When a lady says “I’m sorry”, what he hears is, “I will make you pay for this”.

When a woman says, “don’t ever call me again”, what he hears is, “Just give me time to sulk and then come and beg me”

Okay, I agree that some of these remarks are hilariously off the mark (or are they?)

The men who told me swore these things swore to them….…………

So what do you think?

Is there a communication gap here or are men just being defensive?

Let’s hear your thoughts.
