Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo (née Adelana) was born on November 25, 1915 and married late politician Obafemi Awolowo. In addition to being the the First Lady of the old Western Region and supporting her husband’s presidential ambition, she was also a very successful businesswoman.

She became the first Nigerian distributor for the Nigerian Tobacco Company (NTC) and the first to import lace materials and other textiles into Nigeria.
