Adesola Osota’s Playlist For Conquering The World

I am not afraid of a thousand eyes, When they’re above five hundred smiles… Now I find myself here, and it’s time, Yes this is real, and it’s a gold-mine, I’m not afraid to fly

I didn’t realize that I was emotional until I cried at the end of Sound of Music, and this happens every time I watch the movie. Emotions help me understand the world and people better. So I have this playlist that is on replay in my head, and saved on my phone and when I need to tap into such emotions or when I just need to get away from the aches of this world, I listen to them.

In no particular order, this is my playlist for conquering the world…

Opportunity by Quvenzhané Wallis
I get unnecessarily nervous when I face or do something new. Singing this song helps take my mind off things that makes me nervous. I like the part of the song song that says, “And I am not afraid of a thousand eyes, When they’re above five hundred smiles… Now I find myself here, and it’s time, Yes this is real, and it’s a gold-mine, I’m not afraid to fly”

Titanium by David Guetta ft Sia
The funny bathroom scene in the movie Pitch perfect was my first contact with this song and I fell hard for the acapella version before getting the original song. This is my down moment anthem. Whether it’s to keep afloat in the sudden storm of life that hits me or get by with every challenge that comes with a new day, Titanium is the answer. It helps me draw strength within and be strong in myself.

Just the way you are by Bruno Mars
I sing this song a lot when dressing up. Even if I don’t have anyone to say nice things about how I look, singing to myself just helps me love the person in the mirror. It reminds me of the importance of loving and appreciating myself as well being comfortable in my own skin.

Happy by Pharell Williams
I love this song! If you have watched Despicable me 2 then you would love this song more! I love every line of the lyrics. I live in Lagos- the land of traffic jam! If you find yourself in traffic or you are just depressed turn up your music player and jam to this song till you infect others with your happiness. Life is worth being happy all the time!
