It is better to be a mother in Ghana, Togo, Cameroon and Benin than in Nigeria
It is better to be a mother in Ghana, Togo, Cameroon and Benin than in Nigeria, this is according to the Save The Children’s 2015 Mothers Index Ranking.
The ratings were compiled using data from UN and based on a number key factors including maternal and child health, education, income, and the political and economic status of women in 179 nations.
The worst 20 nations to be a mother are all in sub-Saharan Africa, and Nigeria is the 12th.
Conditions for mothers and their children in these countries have been described as being grim.
