Gorgeous Ifeoma Fafunwa, producer-director for HEAR WORD!-a theatrical production about women’s empowerment, is on the cover of GemWoman July Edition.
Asides being exquisitely beautiful, she remains an epitome of who a real woman should be. In her interview, Ifeoma expressed her passion for arts and commitment to empowering women. And these are the 5 things she said that has made us love her more..
1. On loving herself
I love the emotional intelligence women have. I like the fact that I can be a mother, a friend, a wife, supporter, and a controller. I can be tough and soft at the same time. I can quietly accomplish almost anything.
2. On being a real woman
As I grew up, I saw more of what women could be; sweet, flexible, patient, inviting and warm. I believe that what defines a ‘real’ woman is what defines a real person someone who understands who they are, strives to improve their character and contribute to the betterment of the society.
3. On being insecure
I was very insecure about a lot of things when I moved back to Nigeria. But then I spent a lot of time trying to understand the environment and then I decided to make a difference.
4. On women rising above abuse and living maximally
When your life is cluttered with what does not work or is unimportant or depressing, there is no space for the good to be invited in, to sit or to stay.
5. Her daily routine
Get a little bit of exercise and have at least 20 minutes alone to pray, meditate, listen to music or just stare into space. Put the kids to bed at night. Think of three things to be grateful for.
