Aisha Buhari Advises Adamawa Governor To Appoint A Woman As The Commissioner For Women Affairs In Place Of Alhaji Aliyu Tola



Governor Muhammed Bindow Jibrilla of Adamawa State caused quite a stir some weeks ago when he announced a man as  his Commissioner for Women Affairs.

During the inauguration of a free medical check-up for women in Yola on Friday, Wife of Nigerian President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, called on the Governor to do the needful and appoint a woman as the Commissioner for Women Affairs in place of Alhaji Aliyu Tola.

She said, “The women are protesting. They asked me to pass their wishes to have a woman as their commissioner for women affairs.”

Women of the state have expressed their displeasure at having a male Commissioner for women affairs, believing that the position should be reserved for a woman.
