Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode, founder of BO Concepts and the luxury store – Modan, is on the cover of the September edition of TW Magazine. During her interview, she makes some interesting revelations.

Here are three things we just got to know about her from the interview;

After her father died, her mother had to sell her jewellery to send her to School:

“Contrary to what people think, my father was not very wealthy. My mother was the trader in the family. After my father died, my mother paid for us to go through school but I remember a year where it was almost impossible for her to pay {my fees} and she had to sell her jewellery. We had this really old Volvo. We used to live at Ogudu and it used to break down when we got to Ojota. People thought it was Kabu Kabu”

She runs Murtala Mohammed Foundation and she makes sacrifices to help those in need;

“Why would I spend N500,000 to place one-page advert when I could set up a 12 computer lab in a school? Can you imagine what it would do for those kids?” she explains

She is very vocal about corruption;

Years ago when the former CBN governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi alleged that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation could not account for 20 billion dollars, she  had comparative message detailing what 20 billion dollars could get you.

She insists that “When people say that Governor XYZ spent so and so amount on a project, the usual challenge is that until you start to compare, people will not understand what they have lost to corruption”
