Her Wings Were Broken, But She Flew Anyway #SundayInspiration

happy woman

I am absolutely in love with the story told so passionately by Martina McBride in her song, A Broken Wing. The message is so deep and has an unforgettable hold on the mind. It’s an amazing comeback story and an inspiration to those who like me, sometimes feel trapped in a chicken’s skin, flapping when they ought to be soaring. And after a long, hard try, want to give up, go curl up, have a deep sleep and wish it will all be gone by daybreak.

Whatever the setback has been, self-made, others-made or life-made, it’s time to pick up the message in the mess, ignore those who feast on others distresses, pack the shame, frustration and guilt in a box, tape it tight around all its edges and fling it into a garbage can where it belongs. Then carry your dreams, spread your wings and fly!

She loved him like he was
The last man on Earth
Gave him everything she ever had
He’d break her spirit down
Then come lovin’ up to her
Give a little, then take it back

She’d tell him about her dreams
He’d just shoot ’em down
Lord he loved to make her cry
“You’re crazy for believin’
You’ll ever leave the ground”
He said, “Only angels know how to fly”

And with a broken wing
She still sings
She keeps an eye on the sky
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you ought to see her fly

One Sunday morning
She didn’t go to church
He wondered why she didn’t leave
He went up to the bedroom
Found a note by the window
With the curtains blowin’ in the breeze

And with a broken wing
She still sings
She keeps an eye on the sky
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you ought to see her fly

With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you ought to see her fly

beauuuriful song. you dont have to listen to people who have nothing good to say about your dreams. if its worth pursuing then go after it. life is too short to be trapped by other peoples selfishness.
