Dayo Amusa is a Yoruba actress and singer who recently released a star-studded music video of her song ‘Aiye Mi‘ featuring Oritsefemi.
In an interview with Peter Okeugo for Punch, she gets down to earth about her work and style, no pretense!
On being both an actress and a singer
“I see myself as an all-round entertainer and I try my best to exhibit the different sides there are to me. I actually started out as a music artiste, although not professionally but, acting earned me more recognition. I try to counsel, inspire, advise and encourage people through the roles I portray and the movies I produce. Singing helps me educate and reach out to people.”
On losing weight
“People who embarked on a weight loss journey have a reason to do so. Whatever looks I spot at a particular time has nothing to do with anyone as long as I am comfortable with myself. I might decide to lose weight tomorrow but for now, I love the way I am.”
On her beauty regime
“I do not have any beauty routine. I am not the kind of person who wakes up in the morning to pamper my face or feet. I just take my bath and try to take care of myself in the little way I can. When I feel I have overworked myself, I either go to a spa or relax. I am not a fashionista or someone who is keen about clothes. I am natural and I wear whatever I feel comfortable in, depending on the event. Ordinarily, I prefer to wear t-shirts and jeans.”
