Mothers are golden. We had them. We have them. We are them.
In James R. Clark’s words, “Motherhood is near to divinity. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels.” And from time to time, every mother’s gold shines through in their words…. Just like the beautiful words of this Nigerian mother, Bunmi Tella – to her daughter on her 21st birthday. We loved reading it, you will too. Read below:
“Happy happy 21st birthday to my stunningly beautiful, intelligent, compassionate, fun, strong daughter.
You are the light of my life – my bff/sister/daughter and sometimes mother (sorry 😂). I wanted you and thought u wld be a boy! But we both know u kinda r 😜 and gender is in the mind these days anyway…. but from the moment I held u in my arms I knew that the love growing exponentially in my heart for you would be my driving force.
You gave me purpose, u gave me strength, u gave me unconditional love, u gave me more than I could ever possibly give u. When I see u, hear u, read u – I am filled with so much pride cause u know u slay! I love u Lu – and tho you turn 21 today and r now officially an adult – u will always be my lil girl and can always run back to my arms wen u need. And u will need – cause u know life and shit. But u got this!
Happy birthday my ride and die, bonny to my clyde – slayer of dragons!!! Stay fierce! ❤️❤️“
