How Olaoluwa Abagun Is Raising 250 Adolescent Girls To Help Prevent Sexual Violence In Alimosho

Olaoluwa Abagun, is one of  the 20 young leaders  and the only Nigerian woman  to be awarded $5,000 seed grants by the global advocacy organisation, Women Deliver.

As an undergraduate, the unapologetic feminist and vocal advocate for girls’ rights in Africa, founded Girl Pride Circle, an organisation focused on advocating for girls rights across Africa and empowering girls with leadership skills.

She is now also the founder of Safe Kicks Initiative: Adolescent Girls Against Sexual Violence.

Olaoluwa hopes that the project will prevent sexual violence against adolescent girls in Alimosho through the education and empowerment of 250 adolescent girls, as well as the mobilization of key members of the community to adopt a Community Action Plan.

The seed grant will help her meet the financial costs of  achieving these objectives by 2017.
