More Details Emerge On The Houseboy Who Stabbed His Madam To Death In Ikoyi

Four days ago,  the story of a 32-year-old lady, Temidayo Adeleke that was killed by her Cameroonian house-help, Joel Lugodo was widely reported.

It was reported that Joel killed Temidayo after he demanded for his December salary, even though the month was yet to end.

Punch explained that Joel desperately needed the money he demanded from Temidayo so he could send it to his girlfriend in Cameroon.

He is said to be collecting N27,000 per month, and he asked her to give him N15,000 from his December salary.

Temidayo, whose wedding was slated for early 2017 had asked Joel to be patient, explaining that she was short of naira notes at that moment.

Joel returned few minutes later with a knife and stabbed her in the chest.

The security guard in Temidayo’s house explained that Joel was employed about two months ago, and he was on drugs.

He told Punch, “The boy is wicked and I have always warned him. He takes drugs. When policemen checked his clothes, they found tremor there. Madam bought him a new phone last month and she usually gave him money apart from his salary. She brought him home through her church member last month and they lived in her flat”

Speaking on the matter, the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Dolapo Badmos said,

“The victim was found lying on the floor of her living room in a pool of blood. A kitchen knife was found stuck into the left side of her chest. She was rushed to St. Nicholas Hospital on Lagos Island, where a doctor on duty confirmed her dead.

“Some drug substance was found on the suspect and he has made confessional statements. He said he wanted to send money to his girlfriend in Cameroon and that was how an argument ensued between him and the boss.

“Investigation is still ongoing and he will be duly prosecuted. Meanwhile, people should be wary of employing domestic servants on the road. Background checks need to be carried out on them.”

Exactly what my husband said yesterday when I told him the story. It’s possible the man was jealous that she was getting married soon. What on earth would make a non relative, male stay with a single lady? If she needs a cleaner, he can come twice or more in a month to do the clean up and leave not living there!
