Have you tried making your own smoothie but ended up feeling frustrated because you could never get it smooth without chunks and pieces of the fruits and vegetables?
These following tips have got you covered. They will help you get a smoother smoothie, even without a fancy blender.
Grate sturdy fruits and vegetables first
Sturdy fruits like apples, carrots, ginger and pears tend to prevent you from attaining the right texture especially when they are not cut before being put into the blender. One way to get the texture right is to grate the fruits and vegetables first. Grating ensures it will blend properly hence attaining the right texture. Add the liquid into the blender then add your grated fruits or vegetables then blend. Your smoothie should turn out very smooth.
Cut into small sizes
If you can’t grate your ingredients before blending you can opt for cutting them into tiny bits. This will ensure the ingredients blend properly and also prevents your blender from early damage. Blend the ingredients for 30 seconds, remove any chunk of fruits/ vegetables at the corner of the blender, stir to ensure its not stock under the blender, blend again for 30 to 45 seconds. Continue this until you attain your desired texture.
Blend one fruit/vegetable at a time
Another way to get the right texture is to blend the fruits/vegetables one at a time. This tip helps you to ensure the ingredients are properly blended before adding the next ingredient. Add the liquid to the blender first, then add your fruits and vegetables which have been cut into small sizes one at a time. Blend for 30 seconds, check the mixture. If it is as smooth as you want it add the next ingredient but if it is not, blend for another 30 seconds.
You don’t have to wait for that fancy blender before making your ultra smooth smoothie. The tips above and a dash of patience will ensure you get the texture of your next smoothie right.
