It is increasingly common for women to have children and be unmarried. While it may work well and good for some women especially if they can co-parent successful with the father of their children, some women may have to face the nighmare of fighting over the custody of their child.

Sophia Momodu experienced this last year when she had a fight with Davido, the father of her child, Imade.

Looking back at the struggles, Sophia said at some point she actually thought she had lost her daughter.

She wrote,

At the beginning of this year I was empty I believed that I had lost you. I could no longer see the light at the end of the tunnel, I started to believe everything the devil tried to pin on me that I was ugly & worthless & bad but every time I saw you I couldn’t ignore the light in your eyes & the unconditional love in your warmth.. God saw me through PPD & knowing I had to be strong for you kept me going. I walked into 2016 without you, but we are walking into 2017 together!❤
