Dear Future husband: to be specific, “D” OR ‘’T” (because I have a commendable history with guys like Dayo, Damilare, David, Daniel and Tolu, I have a feeling you will come through in that sequence.)

I thought to write a short letter since we both know that theValentine’s Day is around the corner and we’re currently single. So, this is your baby-girl writing you a soothing letter to tell you she’s still in check for you.

I’m now grown from the vision you last saw in your prayers. I have a faint feeling you stopped talking to God about me so I’m writing to nudge you out of your slumber. Now listen! “D’’OR “T”, this is not the time to let your guards down or fool around with some other girls in your miles-away location all in the name of exploring. You really need to stay faithful to the wait just like I’m doing right here.

I think about you every single day and pray for you relentlessly.

Please, pick your friends wisely and when it’s from the opposite sex, be spiritually sensitive and also sure she is not a “karashika” sent from beyond.  Biko help my ministry and keep you safe for me!

Nevertheless, I sometimes wish this wait will be over. It’s really not easy explaining to people there’s a set time for when we’ll meet. You know how much of a fine girl you bargained for from God and honestly, it’s not easy walking on the streets without getting an unsolicited “hey pretty” from brothers I will sing ‘kolowerk’ to in a billion advances. Baby it’s not easy.

Not everyone even understands the concept of waiting and it’s like I’m totally dulling myself amidst the buzz of these Naija fine boys. But I’ve chosen to stay put in my lane and develop myself while I wait for you.

As a result, I want to encourage you to never stop praying to God to prepare me adequately for your arrival. I want to be the all in one package (through the grace of God).

Lately, I’ve been smashing the glass-house ceilings around me in pushing towards my career and it makes people think I’m too hard and will probably not do well as a wife (because it’s a patriarchal society). But we both know you like me fierce so don’t stop praying to God to gift me with the virtues that will groom me for you.

Also, I wanted to know if you’d be okay with leg chains because that’s my secret obsession and I wouldn’t want it to ruin the launch of our love story. Let me know how you feel about it. I should also warn you that I have an incurable affection for pats and cuddles. I hope you’re preparing yourself for the work you’re about to get into.

‘’D” OR “T”, there’s so much deposited love in my heart warming all up to spill on you and I honestly can’t wait to have you carry me around the house, wipe my tears, hear my worries, kiss my fore-head, sing to me, buy me flowers, pat my back, watch me sleep, send me texts at work, take me on dates, go on vacations and so much more.

But the primary beauty of my anticipation lies in thinking about you pray with me, pray for me, worship with me, listen to the lord’s voice in unison and raise God-fearing children. Then, and right there, will I know that I waited for the right course and the right man.  I’LL BE WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY MY LOVE.
