“I Sponsored Our Wedding. I Even Lent Him Money To Pay My Bride Price”- Woman Says As She Seeks Divorce From Lazy Husband

A civil servant, Faith Ogu, whose husband deceived about his employment status, is begging a Jikwoyi customary court in Abuja to dissolve her marriage.

Faith said that her husband, Joseph Ogu tricked her into believing that he had a source of livelihood before their marriage, and it was after their wedding that she got to know the truth.

“He never told me that he had no job, instead he kept telling me that he works with the Zenith Bank and that he has a business in Lagos that yields him millions. It was after I got married to him that I discovered the whole truth about him.”

According to her, her husband also lied that he had a house somewhere in Lugbe.

“He is lazy and does not want to do anything for a living; I have been lending him money, hoping that he would pay back. I sponsored our wedding. I even lent him money to pay my bride price. I beg this court to dissolve my marriage so that I can be free; I am tired of feeding, clothing and paying medical bills for my husband.” she said

The Presiding Judge adjourned because Faith’s husband was said to have been absent since the commencement of the case.
