“You’re Putting It Under Public Scrutiny, You’re Basing Your Relationship On Validation From People That You Don’t Know “ – Wunmi Obe Speaks On Effects Of Social Media On Relationships

Social media has become so important to us that we have willingly given it the power to intrude our private lives.

Celebrity couples, Tunde and Wunmi Obe share their opinion on why you should be careful about putting so much of your relationship on social media.

The couple who have never had a scandalous story to their names explain the danger in putting your relationship out there.

Wunmi said,

I don’t think it’s a safe thing to do because when you do that, what you are actually doing is, you are putting your relationship under pressure. You’re putting it under public scrutiny, you’re basing your relationship on validation from people that you don’t know, you’ve never even seen before. You are looking for validation for your relationship and accolades and compliments from people, some that don’t even exists.

You’re putting your relationship out there and once you put it out there, people begin to criticise or commend. When you begin to have your problems, you find yourselves in a situation whereby you don’t want to say they are problems anymore because you only like to put out the good things , you begin to cover up, then you start to live a lie.
