The body of a Nigerian lady, Susan Anyawu-Corbin, who went missing in the US last year has been identified by the police. Her remains was discovered on the 4th of April by a passer-by and investigators are now trying to discover how she died. Susan was 22-years old when she went missing in February 2016.
According to the police, she moved to the US from Nigeria four to five years ago.
Susan’s remains was identified from a dental examination, along with a hoodie, a pair of sweat pants, a spiral ring, and a bracelet with the “peace” charm found on her.
Susan’s boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, Junior Bernard, explained that Susan’s former boyfriend may have been involved with her disappearance as he was always abusing her.
According to him, Susan had a cut on her face the last time he saw her in February and she had confessed to him that her ex-boyfriend threatened to kill her because she was dating Bernard.
He also explained that Susan’s former boyfriend came to his house to assault him, and he reported to the police.
Shortly after those incidents, Susan went missing.
The police explained that Susan’s uncle filed a report of a missing person in May after he couldn’t reach her on the phone and also found a new tenant living in her apartment.
The uncle explained that the report was made late because he thought that Susan wanted some time to herself.
