Kemi Olunloyo published an article online about David Ibiyomie, a popular Port-Harcourt General Overseer of Salvation Ministries. In the article, the pastor was accused of adultery and corruption.
On the 16th of March, Kemi announced on her Instagram page that she had been driven to Port Harcourt on the orders of the Inspector General of police because of the article she published.
Below is what she wrote:
Dear Media, friends, fans. I was driven by the NPF to Port Harcourt on orders of the IG. Pastor David Ibiyeomie says I criminally defamed him because I posted a letter his church member sent to me alleging corruption and adultery. Both newsmakers refused to answer the allegations but Ibiyeomie called me several times to threaten me with lawsuits, death from above and misfortune. Church spokesman did the same with Danielle Ogbeche of Daily Post too. I have been charged with a cybercrime along with a Rivers state journalist who simply syndicated my story. 500 blogs did. Cybercrime? in the Nigerian constitution and remanded in prison. Next week 23rd I appear in court again for a second bail attempt. I will be in this Port Harcourt prison till then. THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD. #Journalism is not a crime. I love you all. Pls trend #FreeKOO #FreeMadamHNN. @ludovicca_iacinno pls tell the world. Tweet it to the Toronto Sun’s @Joe_warmington. Pls every one let Joe know. I’m in high spirits. The NPF recommended NO bail. Police is never your friend in Nigeria. I will always be a proud international investigative journalist. I will not see my phone again for a week. Off to a Nigerian prison. Mass Comm students never give up. I don’t need my powerful connections. I want the law to run its course. GOD BLESS
Last week she was granted bail by a magistrate court but she was returned to prison on the orders of a high court.
Since the photos of Kemi Olunloyo in prison uniforms emerged online, there has been mixed reactions online. While some are saying she deserved to be arrested for tarnishing the man’s image, many are calling for her release, even those that have once had issues with her.
I expected Mrs kemi … to be locked up by her father, Obasanjo, Mr Kosoko or other Actors…..but a pastor!!!!… Hahhaha that really beats my imagination. Well…. Maybe I should have reported each and every pastor that defamed me during the dog saga. Yes they preached… During the ordeal….. after the whole frame up. I was hurting. I was alone. I was a poor Little girl trying to find her way.. Trying to understand life. I was called all sorts of names. …pastors preached. The congregation moaned and rain curses to the name that brought shame to womanhood.. Hahahhahahha 😡😁My mum was in church somewhere in Abuja. The pastor preached about this fake sermon. The lust after money… The girl that slept with dog just for #10,000 dollars, Who is she then to challenge the pastor.. Well she was just the mother to the girl that supposedly slept with dog. She simply left the church and never went back. 😂😢 …. My father wasn't spared either.. In Anambra .. They gathered in the church and went to my village house to rain curses on the girl who brought immense shame to the church and the village. My father knew it was just a movie. So never really cared. I was withdrawn. I was hurting.. How can an award winning performance I was paid only #30,000 naira brought me so much head ache and pains. How can the pastors believe such lies. Didn't they call on God for guidance before preaching and prosecuting me back then. The magazine made lots of money off the image they created of me. The jobs stopped coming. From a young starlet I went down to zero.. All hope was lost….I thank God I didn't take a leap of fate into the now popular eko bridge… The people I looked up to described me in unimaginable ways. That's when I really decided that most pastors have lost touch with God. I forgave them all. The magazine… The pastors. … Do you know the true identity of the man that turned me in to a pimp?…… Do you know the true identity of Iyanu?… Same old stories…… I leave you to do the calculation. Because Mr? Real profession is written in ungrateful Delilah. And if they come after me again Hahahahahhaha…. Everyone goes down.😂😈 #freekoo #freemadamhnn
A lot of people have been writing me about Kemi or HnnAfrica arrest.. Everyone knows my perception of her.. her lies, falsehood and misinformation to the general public of events that never happened. Yes I fought her vigorously to protect and defend my image is was trying hard to tarnish with lies maliciously. However, we are all flawed and imperfect. She is an opinionated writer and steps out of bounds most often. Yet, I will plead to the Pastor of the church she accused and Nigerian police Port-Harcourt Branch to please show mercy and release her. She is a mum and needs to be home with her kids. I call on all well meaning Nigerians to please forgive her and lend your voices towards her release. I beg of you all. Please free Kemi God bless you all. To err is human; To forgive is Divine
PLEASE READ THROUGH. I was one of the few who was happy when they heard Madam Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo was arrested as I believed it will serve as deterrent to others who will just put out things to malign others. I was also particularly happy that there is a cybercrime law as I was going to sue a blogger, Emmanuel Oko Ekpo Bricks in Abuja for writing and trying to defame my personality for popularity and even went as far as touring radio stations and granting video interviews claiming I was threatening his life despite the fact that I haven't spoken with him before up till now. Then, I thought of the mistakes I have made in life that could have kept me behind bars if the victims have decided to pursue the case(s) and I decided to take the path of forgiveness. Madam Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo has never been entirely right and we must acknowledge that and instead of just going after the Pastor, we must ask that he should be kind enough to forgive. I don't know if what Madam Kemi wrote about the Pastor was true, but what if it is not, we know what it means to have your character questioned, nonetheless we plead for his forgiveness. We can't force it and so we plead for his forgiveness. I have read from people shouting hell on the Pastor and I just laughed as I know what some would have done if it was them. Please don't forget that we are Humans first before Pastoral call. I therefore, plead with whoever is behind the case against Madam Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo to forgive for Christ's sake. Thanks.
