On Monday, the sector commander of the Rivers State Command of the FRSC, Andrew A. Kumapayi was pictured cutting the hair of some female officials. This was during a morning parade where he checked if the officials are complying with the dress code of the agency. Reports claim that he also inspected their hair, finger nails, and other things.
In the photos we see him cutting off braids from one officials head and in the other we can someone cutting off weave from another woman.
The women whose hair were cut were said to have breached the dressing code of the commission by having long hair-d0s, but for many, the treatment is an abuse and not discipline. This displeasure sparked an online debate on if he had the right to cut off officials hair with scissors in public.
Premium Times has now reported that Mr. Andrew has now been suspended alongside other senior officials who participated in the act.
