Diane Isibor Honored With President’s Award For Academic Excellence At Valdosta State University


A Nigerian, US-based student, Diane Ndidi Isibor, is the recipient of the Spring 2017 President’s Award for Academic Excellence.

Ndidi hails from Delta State and attends Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration at Valdosta State University, Georgia.

The University explained that the President’s Award for Academic Excellence is presented to the graduating student with the highest grade point average in each of the school’s five colleges.

About Ndidi, the school said,

During her time as a student at VSU, Isibor regularly achieved Dean’s List status, served as a university ambassador and a WileyPLUS student partner, and earned a spot in the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society and the Mu Zeta chapter of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting and Finance Honors Society, where she served as treasurer.

She was actively involved in the Society of International Students, where she served as vice president and treasurer; the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants; the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; and the VSU chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, where she served as director of plant tours and events and was featured in the organization’s Campus Connection newsletter.

Isibor’s commitment to academic and service excellence on campus, in the community, and around the world resulted in her earning the 2016 VSU President’s Choice Scholarship, the 2016 Georgia Gulf Sulfur Scholarship, the 2016 Institute of Management Accountants Memorial Education Fund Award, the 2015 and 2016 Georgia Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Scholarship, the 2016 Ritchie Jennings Memorial Scholarship from the Association for Certified Fraud Examiners, the 2016 Accounting and Finance Women’s Alliance Scholarship, and the 2016 Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship.

Isibor plans to work as a financial analyst in Atlanta after graduation, while pursuing the professional designations typical of individuals working in the accounting and finance career fields. She hopes to someday return to school and earn a Master of Business Administration degree.
