A 62-year old woman, Margaret Davou may be Africa’s oldest mom to conceive through IVF.
Margaret welcomed a baby girl at the Gynaeville Specialist hospital after a CS carried out by a team of consultants from JUTH.
Although, the baby is low weight as the pregnancy was below 38 weeks, doctors said she is stable and fine and is under close observation.
Margaret, who gave birth after 38-years of childlessness, explained that she had made an attempt in the past to conceive through assisted-reproductive health but they were not successful.
The chairman of the hospital, Dr. Kenneth Egwuda said available records showed that Margaret is the oldest woman in Africa to successfully undergo the procedure and give birth.
