Many female students have come out to share how they were repeatedly failed or threatened to be failed by their male lecturers who want to have sex with them. While some give in to the pressure so that they can have a degree, some others have had to bear the painful consequences of their refusals.
It is so sad to know that in spite of all these stories, many lecturers still get away with this unethical behaviour.
A 28-year old Dental Nursing student of the Ogun State College of Health Technology, Mosunmola has accused her lecturer, Dr. Oluseyi Adu of impregnating her and denying the paternity.
Mosunmola told Punch that she had sex with her lecturer in August 2016 after he threatened that she wouldn’t pass his course if she didn’t allow him.
Although, Dr Adu did not deny his actions but he claimed to have been seduced by the student. He also denied the paternity of the child saying he used a condom.
Mosunmola who is an orphan and stuggling financially said she want him to take financial responsibility for the child, but the lecturer has been running from it.
While the state Ministry of Health said it had set up a panel to probe the matter within seven days, Punch reports that the college is now claiming thatt she was not a student of the school when she got pregnant and also that Dr Adu was just an associate lecturer and not an employee.
