Building a family and chasing your dreams can be tiring, but gratifying. In a few weeks, the kids will be home and you might be thinking: how can I make the most of this short holiday? How about bonding on a family vacation, here in Nigeria? Aside from spending ample time with the children, it would be another opportunity for you, hardworking mama to take a break.

Now, a lot of parents would love the idea of a vacation but do you know the various family-friendly destinations we have in Nigeria? Not everytime go abroad, sometimes stay home.

We did the research so you wouldn’t have to.  Here you go. A full list of Nigerian destinations you can take your entire family to for your next vacay.

1. Obudu Mountain Resort, Calabar.

Formerly known as Obudu Cattle Ranch, Obudu Mountain Resort is a popular ranch and resort on the Obudu Plateau in Cross River State, Nigeria. In recent times, the ranch has been rehabilitated by the Cross River State Government and this has encouraged an influx of both national and international tourists. This is somewhere you definitely want to take your family to this Easter.

2. Tinapa Business Resort and Free Zone, Calabar.

Tinapa is a world-class integrated Business and Leisure Resort located in Calabar, Cross River State. It was created to provide a business, leisure and entertainment destination that matches the best destinations anywhere in the world. So, if for some reasons you need to take your work along for the vacation, this is the destination for you. Although it’s a vacation for a reason, you shouldn’t be working. *side eye* There’s quite a number of facilities there that would keep you and your family fully occupied.

3. Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort.

Located in the Western part of Ekiti state, Ikogosi Warm Springs is one of Nigeria’s popular tourist destination. This is as a result of the intersection of a warm spring as well as a cold spring which meet at a confluence. Of course, with that kind of popularity, a resort of sorts has been provided for those that want to spend some time in that serene environment with their families.

4. Lekki Leisure Lake.

The Lekki Leisure Lake is a lakeside resort overlooking the Atlantic in the Lekki peninsula area. It is particularly family-friendly because there are a lot of fun games and activities for kids and adults as well. So, if you don’t particularly feel like leaving Lagos this Easter, Lekki Leisure Lake has got you.

 

5. Olumo Rock Tourist Centre.

Given the popularity of Olumo Rock, you’ll be surprised that many people still haven’t visited the tourist destination, myself included. So, why don’t you make it a date this Easter? Take your family members on a road trip to Olumo Rock and bask in its splendour and grandeur. Luckily, there are guest houses available that can accommodate you for as long as you wish.

6. Oguta Lake Holiday Complex.

In the Oguta LGA of Imo state, there’s a freshwater lake which has fast become a holiday destination for families. The Oguta Lake Holiday Complex has quite a number of facilities including a Golf course, a mini children recreational park, cruise boat services and much more. So, if you need to leave the hustle and bustle of city life, this is a good choice.

7. Abraka Turf And Country Club.

The Abraka Turf and Country Club is a private country resort situated in Delta state in Southern Nigeria. It offers savannah adventures, natural reserves and a clear emerald green river. Now, if you want a luxurious family vacation, this one’s for you. As always, there are recreational facilities to keep you busy, help you relax and bond with your family.

This is a private 60-acre beach resort in Lekki, Lagos. Regarded as one of the best beach resorts in Nigeria, it combines an African themed hospitality with modern luxury.
