One of the many reasons domestic violence victims do not speak out on time is because they believe that their spouse would change.

Another reason is the fear of being talked about, Nollywood actress, Rukky Sanda said.

In a chat with HipTv, Rukky Sanda encourages victims to always speak out in time to avoid being killed.

I think if you are going through something, you need to learn to speak up. And when you see traces of someone trying to be violent towards you, just try to stop it in the beginning.

Don’t let it gets to an extent where the damage is being done and I feel a lot of people feel like, “Oh, if I talk, this person will judge me” or “they will talk about me,” but at the end of the day, if you lose you life or something terrible happens to you that cannot be taken back, then, you’re losing in a greater way.

At the end of the day, we need God’s grace, we should be prayerful and if it’s not working, just walk away.
