Dear Sapphire, Should We Still Be Asking Domestic Violence Victims “What Did You Do?”

It is sad to know that many women still ask other women “what did you do?” when they suffer domestic violence from their spouses. No matter what you do or don’t do, a man should never raise his hands against the woman he has vowed to love, cherish and protect. There will always be disagreement in marriage, both spouses at one point or the other will make the other angry, but it should never degenerate to violence.

The truth is, some women do every thing right and still fall victims of domestic violence, so we need to stop blaming women for their men’s indiscretions.

Nollywood actress and producer, Sapphire Ogodo was asked the reason for the rate of failed marriages and rate of domestic violence in the industry during an interview with Goldenpearlmediangr

She said;

Women should generally learn how to be submissive to their husbands. The feminist and ego rave have taken over the industry. Every woman wants to be a man and be in charge. Your husband raises his hand on you, for nothing? No! He can’t. He is not a beast. Tell us, what did you do?
