Chioma Ukonu, Co-Founder And COO Of Recycle Points Comes Second Place At The 2017 Chivas Venture Competition

Co-founder and COO of Recycle Points, Chioma Ukonu has emerged the second winner at the Chivas Venture competition in Los Angeles, taking home, $200, 000.

Chioma was one of the 10 finalists and had to compete with entrepreneurs from 32 other countries.

The Chivas Venture is a global competition launched to find promising, up-and-coming startups with the potential to succeed financially and make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Through Recycle Point, Chioma is helping individuals, particularly from low-income households, to create value from their everyday waste.

Recyclable waste materials are collected from registered households, and in turn, rewards them with points that add up and are redeemed for cash or other useful items offered through their iRecycle Store.

RecyclePoints supports environmental sustainability and employs the community to be part of the solution.

The company is hoping to expand its operations within its current city and to other states, purchase new equipment and replicate its solution in a franchise model.
