45-year old Uloma Curry-Walker may face life imprisonment after she was found guilty of the death of her husband, William Walker in November 2013.
Uloma and her husband had just gotten married four months before his death and were moving to a new home bought by Williams when he was killed.
CBS News reported that Uloma was in debt and needed to clear it off, so she thought of killing her husband to get his $100, 000 in life insurance. Unfortunately for her, Williams had not changed the beneficiary of the insurance from his ex-wife’s name to Uloma, so, Williams’s ex-wife got the money after he was killed.
Uloma had asked her then 17-year-old daughter and her boyfriend to find someone to kill Williams and she paid $1, 000 to carry out the murder.
On the night that Williams was killed, he was on his way home from getting the food Uloma requested when he was ambushed. Her daughter, who testified against her in court explained that her mother while carrying out the plan, said, nobody would believe she would hire kids to do the killing when she could get someone better.
Uloma finally admitted to killing her husband but said he was violent towards her.
