Lola Ilesanmi, a UK-based woman, may face deportation to Nigeria, where she says her three-year-old daughter is at risk of female genital mutilation

According to Politics, Lola, who has been in the UK for seven years accused her husband of severe domestic violence because she did not give in to the barbaric act.

In an interview with Channel 4 News, Lola said her husband was obsessed with FGM and is determined to cut their daughter, should they be deported to Nigeria.

“It’s a lifestyle. Every time we have a conversation and he remembers he has a daughter, that’s what comes to his mind. He doesn’t see the smile on her face, he just sees the fact that she has not been cut and she’s not yet a right standing girl to be alive. He talks about it all the time.”
