“I Think It’s Just Society That Puts Guys Ahead Of Women. It’s Not Like Women Are Less”- Simi

Nigerian singer, Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi, in an interview with Notjustok TV recently discussed her new single titled “Smile for me” as well as her upcoming album.

She also discussed her journey to stardom, the alleged love triangle between her, Falz and Adekunle Gold.

Here are some excerpts from the interview.

Competition between female artistes in Nigeria

I think its competition among artists in general. Although we have, to be honest, female artists have to fight harder for spots in this industry. There’s like 50 male artists to one female artist. I don’t think the male artistes are on a different level, I think it’s just society that puts guys ahead of women. It’s not like women are less.

Falz and Adekunle Gold

Yes, I hear of this triangle all the time but there’s no triangle and I really prefer not to talk about my personal relationship in front of cameras. All I’m going to say is that I work with them and I enjoy working with them.
