Nigeria To Increase The Intake Of Contraceptives Among Women


The intake of contraceptive among Nigerian women will increase to 27 percent by 2020, the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has said. As the Federal Government plans to increase its annual allocation for contraceptives to $4 million.

According to him, the regulatory barriers hindering the access to contraceptives will be removed.

He also explained that the government would increase the number of health facilities providing family planning services in each state to 20,000 and take advantage of its 10,000 functional Private Healthcare Systems to raise awareness on child spacing.
