The Makurdi flood is said to have displaced over 110,000 people from their homes leaving them to take shelter at a camp of internally displaced persons in the state.
For Kutsuwe Kwembe, an 100-year-old woman, life couldn’t be more difficult as the recent flood is the third she is experiencing in her life time.
Eight years ago, her house was first destroyed in a flood around Gyado Villa neighbourhood.
In 2012, she was also a victim of the flood caused by the opening of Lagdo Lake Reservoir in Cameroon.
In a chat with Premium Times, Kutsuwe said the recent flood damaged many things she had in her house and flushed away the rest.
Although, they were visited by the First Lady of Benue State, Eunice Ortom, Kutsuwe said she just prayed and left.
