Cynthia Erivo is a British-Nigerian actress and singer, and she is working towards being one of celebrated actresses.
According to reports, Cynthia is an award away from the 13th person in the world to win the celebrated EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony).
In 2016, she won the Tony Award for Best Actress for her performance in a musical, The Color Purple, which also won her the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
In April 2017, Erivo won the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Award for the same musical. Meanwhile, Cynthia started her journey in Hollywood with appearances in small roles on British television programs, until she landed the lead role in The Color Purple, which has won her three major awards.
With the many projects lined up for Cynthia this year and next, her fans are sure she would soon win an Oscar.
Cynthia will be working alongside award-winning veteran actress, Viola Davis in a film, Widows, which would be released in November 2018.
She will also star in a movie about American abolitionist, Harriet Tubman.
Cynthia has also been cast in an Oscar-nominated screenwriter’s movie, Bad Times at the El Royale, which will serve as her debut film.
