Professor Engobo Emeseh Becomes University of Bradford’s Head of Law School


A Nigerian woman, Professor Engobo Emeseh, has been announced as the new Head of Law School of the University of Bradford.

According to the university website, she will resume duties on October 1 2017.

The Dean of the Faculty of Management and Law, Professor Zahir Irani, commended Professor Emeseh as having a ‘very impressive track record.’

Professor Emeseh graduated with a first class from the Nigeria Law School and Distinction from the University of Wales Cardiff.

She got her PhD from the Centre for Energy Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee.

She is a former British Council Chevening Scholar, and a Ford Foundation (IFP) doctoral fellow.

Before her academic career, she was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992 and practiced as a barrister and solicitor in Nigeria.
