Thursdaline Peter Is Teaching Nigerian Women Taekwondo So They Can Defend Themselves Against Bullies


Thursdaline Peter is a Taekwondo fighter and self defense trainer. She is Nigeria’s youngest Taekwondo referee and has won several awards, representing Nigeria in Africa and Asia.

Thursdaline joined Taekwondo to fight women abuse, and she has once beaten a thief.

In a chat with BBC News Pidgin, Thursdaline explained that she trains with men and they do not pity her because she is a woman.

She said,

No allow anybody talk you into say, you weak. Boys and girls, dem different. Boys and girls, dem get equal rights.

Other boys go come to me, dem go dey tell me say make I fight with them, all the trainings we go do, I go do with dem, I go kick dem, dem go kick me, dem no dey pity me
