Toke Makinwa On Why She Doesn’t Like To Use The Word ‘Feminist’

Toke Makinwa, in a previous vlog, talked about how she doesn’t like to fart before anyone, not even  before her partner or how its unfair for a man to see a woman wearing a hairnet. Many criticised her for  this, saying she is not a true feminist because she is living her life to please a man.

In defense of her statement, Toke Makinwa explained that she hates to use the word, feminism, because it has been abused.

In her new vlog, titled, “weired much,”  she said women should not portray men as their enemies because feminism is not about that.

She said,

This is why I don’t use the word feminist because there are a bunch of angry and bitter women walking through life, angry at everything and begin to blame it on a man. Being a feminist doesn’t mean that men are our enemies. We are talking about gender equality. Your guy would certainly want to do some things that would please you so why can’t you do the same.
