These are some of the things that make you proud as a Nigerian. When you see someone from an entirely different culture, who not only identifies with your culture, but also understands your language, you’re left amazed.
In a video online, the Ooni of Ife, in one of his recent trips abroad, had an interesting conversation with a white woman about the origin of mankind.
There, the Ooni was explaining to the woman that everyone, irrespective of colour and race, were from the same origin, Ile-Ife.
The woman affirmed this and sought to come back if given the chance.
All this happened in Yoruba!
The following conversation ensued
Ooni: All the people standing here have the same blood flowing in them. Our blood is red but that is where the whole world come from.
White woman: Its just that we walked away from there. We were lost.
Ooni: Yes, you walked away from there. You walked to all these places.
White woman: But now, if you give us the chance, we will come back to our nation.
Ooni: Yes. These places are called the land that expands and spread through the world. we have just one land and it is called, Ile-Ife, and that is where Oduduwa is king. It is where Oduduwa was first was crowned in the whole world. That is where kingship started. I’ll be telling you all about it today, so that we can know how to work together.
