It is so sad to read stories of child abuse and neglect in the news everyday. Isn’t it time we start taking these issues seriously as a country? How bad does it have to get for this to be tackled with the urgency it deserves.

A Facebook user, Emma Oramalu shared the story of a woman, madam Oge, who burnt a 7-year-old girl, Chidinma, with a hot knife and put pepper inside her private part for eating crayfish.

According to him, Chidinma is not madam Oge’s biological daughter.

He wrote,

This child is only 7yrs. On Monday we found her with these burns on her body, and discovered them to be fire burns off a hot knife from her madam. Her crime is eating part of a drying crayfish and leaking sugar.

After burning her severally on her body she infused pepper into her private part. This is not to mention the number of cane strokes on her body up to her face so much that she could barely talk. We approached her and got a video confession of her accepting her crimes and blaming the devil.

We learnt that her real mother had abandoned her earlier in life. Today, we invited the NTA Nigeria Television Authority Awka. Who visited the place and interviewed the parties involved and its going to be on air today by 7pm news.

I wonder if This free holiday lessons wasn’t on, This little girl would have continued to suffer in silence. For me it is a fulfilled dream, even if the whole idea to put This project was to discover and save her. To God be the glory there is something you too can do. get on board

Today at the police station. Madam Oge is begging for mercy, according to her, she will pay the medical bill and buy beverages for Chidimma as long as she required. But the DPO who described herself as both mother and grandmother refused and gave instructions that the matter be charged to court.
