Dr. Isioma Okobah Is Conferred With Fellow Degree Of The American Academy Of Family Physician


For her contribution towards the advancement of family medicine, a Nigerian, US-based physician, Dr. (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah has been conferred the 2017 prestigious fellow of the American Academy of Family Physician award (Degree).

The award is said to be the highest honour given to practicing physician in the US for doing extremely well in the advancement of healthcare and their professional development through medical education and research.

Dr. Isioma, in the last 12 years has been carrying out free medical programme for the rural populace in Delta State, which is her hometown.

Her foundation, Isioma Okobah foundation, has also been sensitising the people on the importance of living healthy and also provides free medication.

She single-handedly built a community hospital in Igbodo, where 13 other communities also benefit from.
