“Had I Known It’ll Be The Last Time I’ll See You Or Hear Your Voice, I Would Have Begged You To Stay” -Toke Makinwa Writes An Emotional Posthumous Birthday Note To Her Dad

   

No matter where life takes you, the memory of the loved one you have lost stays with you.

Toke Makinwa will never forget how death took her dad away, she will never stop celebrating him, it is a pact she made to herself.

In an emotional Instagram post, she wrote her dad a posthumous birthday note.

She wrote,

Happy birthday to my first love ❤❤❤
I stood in the shadows, scared for my dear life, I stood in the dark too afraid to let you see me. I watched them gather around, I watched as they put the fire from your pants out.

You seemed ok, you walked right past me and all I wanted was a hug but I was too afraid, the darkness was my comfort. I knew my life had changed, uncertain what would come next.

Was it all a dream? Had I known it’ll be the last time I’ll see you or hear your voice;I would have begged you to stay. I would make good grades dad, I’ll be obedient, please stay.
