This Woman Knew Her Husband Was Raping Her 13-year old House girl and She Did Nothing about It

It is so unfortunate that some women could be aiding their spouse to rape young innocent teenagers. The story of Mrs. Amaobi, who watched her teenage house maid being raped severally by her husband, and did nothing about it, is so heartbreaking and cruel.

13-year-old Mary had come to Lagos from Jos to find her a better life. She started working at the Amaobi’s home as a housemaid in April; sadly, Mr. Amaobi started raping her from that month.

When she reported to her madam, she did anything about it, rather, she beat her and accused her of stealing money.

Sometimes, Mr. Amaobi comes to her room with a knife, which he holds to her neck to prevent her from shouting.

“There was a time madam was in the sitting room. He came to where I was and carried me to his room. I tried to struggle but he held me down and said he would stab me if I made any noise. When he finished, he told me to get out of the room and to keep quiet because I was crying. I still went to report to his wife and she did not do anything about it.” she said.

On Sunday, October 22, 2017, after he raped her and Mary informed her madam, she took her to a hospital and a pregnancy test was conducted. When they got home, her madam gave her an alcoholic herbal drink and when she refused taking it, her madam threatened to stab her with a scissors and then she sent her away.

The man has now been charged with child sexual abuse and child endangerment at the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, and has been remanded at the Kirikiri Prison.
