Yewande has now been sentenced to seven years imprisonment for manslaughter.
Even though she pleaded not guilty to the crime, Yewande had once confessed to ‘flashing’ a scissors before her late husband while he was beating her, a statement she soon denied but the couple’s landlord revealed that they saw her holding a knife, with Lowo, in a pool of blood.
At the final hearing of the case, the judge said that all evidences pointed that Yewande killed Lowo; however, the intention behind the killing remains unknown.
Evidences also revealed that Yewande and her late husband had often engaged in domestic violence.
Autopsy report also confirmed that Yewande’s husband died as a result of shock from a deep wound caused by a sharp object.
