Benedicta Elechi was only posting the pictures of foods she cooked at home on her Instagram page when someone called to order a N100, 000 worth of food for two weeks and that was how her business, TasteBudz, started.
TasteBudz provides Eastern and Riverine delicacies to homes, parties and events.
Sharing her story, Benedicta said, “It might look like a little money but if you’ve got mission and vision, N100, 000 is a lot.”
Benedicta wasn’t even sure she wanted to do a food business but when the first order came, and she started posting more pictures, more orders came and her company started.
“I was getting referrals from people that ate the food and that was how it started, from a hundred thousand naira.”
With over 27, 000 Instagram followers, you would be shocked to know that Tastebudz will be one in January 2018.
“I just started putting up pictures sometimes in September 2016, pictures of food that we were eating at home. So, our first client came through January 2017. Its an amazing story doing what I love and getting paid for it,” she said.
Benedicta is encouraging anybody with a reasonable amount of money to start wherever they can, especially if they have a passion for it.
“Don’t sit down thinking you can’t make money out of your passion, you can because I did.”
