For supporting and encouraging younger writers through her work with the Farafina Trust Creative Writing Workshop in Nigeria, acclaimed novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been announced as one of the recipients of the 2018 Barnes & Noble Writers Awards.
Farafina Trust is a non-profit organization established to promote reading, writing, a culture of social introspection and engagement with society through the literary arts.
The Barnes & Noble Writers Awards, which was established by Poets & Writers in 1996, is to celebrate authors who have given generously to other writers or to the broader literary community.
“ The three writers we honor this year have not only expanded our horizons through their own writing, they are dedicated to supporting other writers and to bringing diverse voices into the literary conversation.”
The awards will be presented at Poets & Writers’ annual dinner on Wednesday evening, March 28, 2018.
