On the 7th of January, a fashion blogger, Sephanie Yeboah called out a clothing line, H &M, for the inscription on the hoodie modeled by a black child.
H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB is a Swedish multinational clothing-retail company known for its fast-fashion clothing for men, women, teenagers and children.
The clothing company had used some children model for the advert of new clothings but while the inscription on the hoodie of a black child model carried, “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle,” the hoodie of the white child model carried, “Mangrove Jungle Survival Expert.”
The post has since generated a global outrage and started a conversation on racism. Although, H & M has issued an apology, not many people are pleased with it, calling it an intentional mistake.
Surprisingly, the mother of the black child model, Terry Mango, says she is not bothered about the outrage because she sees nothing wrong with what H & M did.
According to her, she has been to all her son’s photoshoot and the recent one is not an exception.
