Nigeria Wins 16 Gold, 14 Silver, 16 Bronze Medals At Africa Wrestling Championships


With 10 medals to their names, Nigerian women wrestlers shine at the Africa Wrestling Championships at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt.

Each of the 10 wrestlers who represented the country in the cadet freestyle won a medal of five gold, one silver and four bronze.

The gold medalists are Yetunde Olatunji (40kg), Christian Ogunsanya (46kg), Mercy Adekuoroye (53kg), Simisola Olatunji (65kg) and Cecilia James (68kg).

Natasha Essien (73kg) won silver, while Esther Asaolu (43kg), Aina Ohida (49kg), Jumoke Adekoye (57kg) and Esther Kolawole (61kg) won bronze each.
