Nnedi Okorafor is a Nigerian-American writer of fantasy and science fiction for both children and adults. One of her recent books, “Black Panther: Long Live the King,” was written for Marvel, an American entertainment company.
Nnedi collaborated with BuzzFeed’s Tasty cooking platform for Black History Month to come up with a “Wakandan” dish.
Wakanda is a fictional eastern African nation known for its great wealth and incredible technology. In Wakanda, there are five tribes. Each of them is distinct with their own languages, ways and histories. Wakanda is an amalgamation of African culture.
So, Nnedi decided to pull inspiration from East African cuisine to create a unique dish – Wakandan Jeweled Vegetable Pilau with Berbere Braised Lamb.
Have you ever wondered what type of food they would eat in Wakanda? 😱
