How to Know If the Harmful Chemical Carbide Was Used To Ripen the Fruits You Are Buying


From the sellers in the market, to the buyers who want to consume almost immediately, the use of calcium carbide to ripen fruits and foods is like a tradition passed down.

As much as it does the work of ripening foods for quick consumption, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has warned against it. In fact, it has become a criminal offence to use it because of its dangerous effects.
